I havent had any of the issues others have had. I signed up on-line, and it was a quick, easy process.
I entered my request for a consult on-line, and received e-mail confirmation when a doctor had looked at the case. Within 5 minutes he had called me back. Like one reviewer said, he wasnt in the office (I heard a doorbell ring in the background and some kids running around), but thats what I expected. Id expect these were doctors who were "off work" picking up some extra cash. Then again, I wouldnt expect a doctor to take time away from their current patient load to do phone consults. I havent ran into a doctor who had that much free time.
In any event, I simply had another sinus infection. Ive had plenty and didnt need a diagnosis; just antibiotics. And thats what I got. The prescription was called into the pharmacy immediately, and within 20 minutes I had a text from the pharmacy saying it was ready.
It was quick, convenient, and easy. SO much easier than trying to schedule an appointment and taking time off work to see the doctor, when all I needed was an antibiotic.
As far as the comment that "you get what you pay for," Im not sure that holds true. Teledoc is about the same cost as my copay. I get the same good care only paying a copay for an office visit and paying for the entire office visit out of pocket.
But you are diagnosed without being seen or examined, so Im sure things get missed from time to time. But if you know whats going on and just need to get a prescription filled, this is a great way to go.
Why cant i post this without coming up with a nickname? Dumb. about Teladoc Health
